Grand Lake Golf Course Fire

All Grand Lake residents who received the evacuation notice for the Golf Course fire and are in need of shelter this evening can go to the Grand Lake Center at 301 Marina Dr where the American Red Cross and Grand County EMS are providing sheltering assistance. Cots, blankets and pillows are available.

The mandatory evacuation will be in effect until at least tomorrow, Friday the 29th with a goal of 9am re-entry. There will be another Community briefing at 09:00 at the Grand Lake Center for updates and at that time, they will notify the public of their intentions. CodeRed messaging will also go out to all impacted residents with updates.

No structures have been damaged and the fire is still currently at approx. 20 acres.

All county roads from the corner of County Road 48 and Highway 34 to the North and West are currently closed.

There are approx 100 firefighters and first responders helping out in the Grand Lake area at this time with the assistance of 2 heavy air tankers and two helicopters. Two bulldozers have been successful in creating break lines to aid in the protection of homes in the area.

Those that need emergency assistance can call 911. A non-emergency phone number can be reached at 970-725-3100 until 9pm this evening.
